What Made It So Special
One of Pantera's last performances as a band (they pretty much stopped after 9/11) The place was totally insane. Slayer and Static X did an amazing job paving the way for Pantera to just destroy our eardrums. Being Canada, the security guards would literally smile and watch as you puffed your joint then pretend they didn't see anything and keep on the lookout for fights (the way security guards should be). Clouds of smoke billowed above the crowd so thick that people in the seating bowl were complaining afterward of a hazy view of the stage. Best show I've ever been to in my entire life.
What I'd Do Differently
- Would've got there earlier I suppose. My friend was on the street team for Statix X and he had backstage meet & greet passes. We thought we were on time and it seemed like we were going backstage but then security dudes just d***ed us around until it became clear that the group of people with the same passes we had, had already gone backstage and were chilling with Pantera. We were out of luck... But I don't care because the show was a once and a lifetime event.
