On this week's Billboard Rock Songs chart, we bid a fond farewell to Cage the Elephant to make room for one new debut. But the top two spots on the chart remain unchanged.
10. Shinedown - "The Crow & the Butterfly"
Shinedown have been on the chart for 21 weeks with "The Crow & the Butterfly," but their time in the Top 10 may be coming to an end: The Sound of Madness track plummets three more spots this week.
9. Stone Sour - "Say You'll Haunt Me"
Stone Sour is the other band from Corey Taylor and Jim Root, who are best known for their work in Slipknot. "Say You'll Haunt Me" is the first single from their new album, Audio Secrecy.
8. Five Finger Death Punch - "Bad Company"
Five Finger Death Punch move up one notch this week with "Bad Company," matching their previous peak on the Rock Songs chart. They'll be touring with Godsmack this fall.
7. Phoenix - "Lisztomania"
After several weeks of steady progress, Phoenix fall one place to No. 7 this week. Is it just a temporary speed bump or is this Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix track on its way off the chart?
6. Rise Against - "Savior"
Rise Against will soon be working on their follow-up album to Appeal to Reason, but in the meantime a lot of people are still in love with "Savior": In its 63rd week on the chart, the track is at No. 6.
5. Neon Trees - "Animal"
One of 2010's biggest new bands has to be this Utah indie-rock outfit. Their breakthrough single, "Animal," bounds up three more places this week, landing at No. 5.
4. The Dirty Heads Featuring Rome - "Lay Me Down"
The Dirty Heads drop a notch to No. 4 this week. In the meantime, guest vocalist Rome Ramirez is supposedly working on recording the debut album for his band Sublime With Rome.
3. Avenged Sevenfold - "Nightmare"
Avenged Sevenfold leap over Dirty Heads to land at No. 3 with the lead single from their new album, Nightmare. They're in the midst of the Rockstar Uproar tour currently, which (hint, hint) features two other bands in our Top 10.
2. Disturbed - "Another Way to Die"
1. Linkin Park - "The Catalyst"
Four weeks on the chart, four weeks at No. 1: Linkin Park continue their reign with "The Catalyst." It seems just about assured now that when A Thousand Suns drops on September 14 it should sell quite well.
