On this week's Billboard Rock Songs chart, we say farewell to My Chemical Romance and their track "Sing." Meanwhile, in the Top 10 two bands are making serious headway in their journey to No. 1, but the top spot remains occupied by the band that's been around the longest of any act on our chart.
10. Alter Bridge - "Isolation"
Alter Bridge are going the wrong direction. This week, their AB III single "Isolation" drops two more spots to No. 10.
9. Mumford & Sons - "Little Lion Man"
For a second straight week, "Little Lion Man" is at No. 9. The Mumford & Sons song got as high as No. 3, but this isn't the last you'll hear from the U.K. quartet on this week's chart.
8. Avenged Sevenfold - "Welcome to the Family"
Avenged Sevenfold's "Welcome to the Family" reenters the Top 10 this week. They'll be a starting a U.S. tour with Three Days Grace on April 22.
7. Shinedown - "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)"
"Diamond Eyes" is in a holding pattern, staying at No. 7 for a third straight week. Shinedown's single "The Crow & the Butterfly" was No. 1 back in August.
6. Linkin Park - "Waiting for the End"
Linkin Park had gotten as high as No. 2 with "Waiting for the End," but they could never quite reach the top spot. This week, the song off A Thousand Suns drops three spots to No. 6.
5. The Black Keys - "Tighten Up"
The song that kept Linkin Park's "Waiting for the End" from grabbing No. 1 was the Black Keys' "Tighten Up." It too is starting to mosey on down the chart, dropping one place this week.
4. Mumford & Sons - "The Cave"
Mumford & Sons' second single in the Top 10, "The Cave," rises two spots to No. 4. Will it end up getting even higher than their breakthrough single "Little Lion Man" did?
3. Rise Against - "Help Is on the Way"
Rise Against's "Help Is on the Way" advances two places this week to No. 3. The band no doubt hope that their new album, Endgame, will be their fourth in a row to at least go gold.
2. Cage the Elephant - "Shake Me Down"
After two weeks at No. 1, "Shake Me Down" spends a second week at No. 2. Considering that the Cage the Elephant single is still enjoying gains in sales and airplay, there's always a chance it could sneak back into the top spot.
1. Foo Fighters - "Rope"
"Rope" jumped right to No. 1 last week, and that's where it stays again this week. The first cut off Wasting Light is the first Foo Fighters single since "Wheels," which came from the band's 2009 greatest-hits disc.
