On this week's Billboard Rock Songs chart, we have a brand new No. 1. Want a hint? It's a song that just came out and is so popular that it shot straight to the top spot in its first week.
10. My Chemical Romance - "Sing"
After getting as high as No. 4, "Sing" drops a dizzying six spots this week. My Chemical Romance are currently touring Europe but will return to North America in early April.
9. Mumford & Sons - "Little Lion Man"
Mumford & Sons' long-running breakthrough single looked like it might be leaving the Top 10, falling to No. 10 last week. This week, "Little Lion Man" moves up a spot, refusing to go gently into that good night.
8. Alter Bridge - "Isolation"
"Isolation" was as high as No. 5, but this week the Alter Bridge track tumbles three spots. The band will begin a U.S. tour at the end of April to promote their latest disc, AB III.
7. Shinedown - "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)"
Shinedown stay planted at No. 7 for a second straight week. Considering it's been three years since the release of their last album, The Sound of Madness, the hope is the band will get back into the studio soon.
6. Mumford & Sons - "The Cave"
"The Cave" makes a big jump up, climbing three spots to No. 6. For the second straight week, Mumford & Sons have two tracks in the Top 10.
5. Rise Against - "Help Is on the Way"
"Help Is on the Way" climbs one spot. This is the first single off Rise Against's new disc, Endgame.
4. The Black Keys - "Tighten Up"
"Tighten Up" continues its slow descent down our chart, falling one spot this week. The Black Keys cut is the song in our Top 10 that's been out the longest, coming out 39 weeks ago.
3. Linkin Park - "Waiting for the End"
"Waiting for the End" has been No. 2 on nine different occasions, but it was never able to claim the top spot. This week, the Linkin Park single falls one notch to No. 3.
2. Cage the Elephant - "Shake Me Down"
"Shake Me Down" had been No. 1 for two weeks, but they drop a slot this week. It's not all bad news, though: Cage the Elephant do remain in the top spot on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.
1. Foo Fighters - "Rope"
In their first week, Foo Fighters debut at No. 1 with "Rope," the first single from the band's forthcoming album, Wasting Light. This is the first time a single jumped straight to No. 1 since Linkin Park did it with "The Catalyst" back in August. Clearly, fans were excited to have some new Foo.
