This week's Billboard Rock Songs chart features a new No. 1 that's actually an old No. 1. And although Phoenix's "Lisztomania" and Five Finger Death Punch's "Bad Company" are threatening to break into the Top 10, our only new entry is actually an old entry. Confusing? I'll clear it all up down below.
10. Rise Against - "Savior"
Rise Against hang steady for a second straight week at No. 10. Random trivia: Tim McIlrath, the band's frontman, has one blue eye and one brown eye.
9. Muse - "Uprising"
Muse will be returning to the U.S. in September for a five-week tour, and the U.K. alt-rock trio return to the Rock Songs chart as well after being absent from the Top 10 for two weeks. "Uprising" has lodged 50 weeks on the chart.
8. Phoenix - "1901"
This week's sole French band, Phoenix continue to enjoy huge chart success with their uber-catchy "1901." The band have said that the song is a tribute to an idealized Paris of the past.
7. Avenged Sevenfold - "Nightmare"
Avenged Sevenfold stay locked at No. 7 for the second straight week with "Nightmare." The album of the same name drops July 27 and will be the band's first record since the death of their drummer, the Rev.
6. Cage the Elephant - "In One Ear"
"In One Ear" drops one place, although it had a strong week of sales and airplay growth. On the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, the Cage the Elephant track peaked at No. 2.
5. Disturbed - "Another Way to Die"
Disturbed continue their slow but steady climb up the chart. Their visibility will only increase once they take the road for the Rockstar Uproar tour in mid-August.
4. 30 Seconds to Mars - "This Is War"
30 Seconds to Mars remain stuck at No. 4 -- this is now the alt-rock trio's fourth week in that position. Still, the group must be happy to know that their title track off This Is War grabbed the top spot on this week's Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
3. Three Days Grace - "The Good Life"
The second single off Three Days Grace's Life Starts Now stays among the upper echelons of the Rock Songs chart after more than a month at No. 1. The band's next single is expected to be "World So Cold."
2. The Dirty Heads Featuring Rome - "Lay Me Down"
The Dirty Heads and guest vocalist Rome Ramirez were the kings of the castle last week, but "Lay Me Down" drops a rung on the Rock Songs chart, landing comfortably at No. 2.
1. Shinedown - "The Crow & the Butterfly"
After falling to No. 2 last week, Shinedown are back at No. 1 with their boisterous ballad, "The Crow & the Butterfly." To celebrate, the band are currently on the road as part of the Carnival of Madness tour.
