On this week's Billboard Top 10 Rock Songs Chart, we bid adieu to Muse and their song "Uprising," which means we have room for one new entry. But perhaps the bigger news is that we have a new No. 1 for the first time since early June.
10. Avenged Sevenfold - "Nightmare"
Avenged Sevenfold enter the Top 10 with their first single off their forthcoming album Nightmare. This will be the band's first record since their longtime drummer, The Rev, died of an accidental overdose at the end of last year. Nightmare hits stores July 27.
9. Cage the Elephant - "In One Ear"
After peaking at No. 6, Cage the Elephant's "In One Ear" tumbles three positions this week. Still, this is the band's third hit single off their self-titled debut.
8. Rise Against - "Savior"
Rise Against drop a notch to No. 8 this week. The punk-rock quartet are hoping that their latest record, Appeal to Reason, will match the sales of their last two discs, which both went gold.
7. Phoenix - "1901"
Phoenix's "1901" has now spent a full year on the Billboard Rock Chart, an impressive feat. The gold-certified single helped propel the French indie-rock band's latest album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, to Stateside success.
6. Ozzy Osbourne - "Let Me Hear You Scream"
Ozzy Osbourne climbs the ladder two positions this week with his single "Let Me Hear You Scream." Not bad for a guy whose first solo hit was 30 years ago.
5. Disturbed - "Another Way to Die"
The Chicago quartet are this week's biggest mover as their single "Another Way to Die" leaps from No. 9 all the way up to No. 5. Disturbed are set to perform at the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, which kicks off August 17.
4. 30 Seconds to Mars - "This Is War"
30 Seconds to Mars are stalled at No. 4 for the second straight week. "This Is War" has the same bombastic, anthem-ready spirit as the group's last single, "Kings and Queens," which also got as high as No. 4 on the Rock Chart. It's possible that the next single off This Is War will be "Closer to the Edge."
3. The Dirty Heads Featuring Rome - "Lay Me Down"
We may be in the dog days of summer, but this breezy summertime tune is starting to lose momentum, dropping one place to No. 3. "Lay Me Down" was included on the special edition of the Dirty Heads' 2008 album, Any Port in a Storm, which was re-released earlier this year.
2. Three Days Grace - "The Good Life"
After a month in the top spot, Three Days Grace's "The Good Life" falls to No. 2. The Toronto quartet will be playing the Canadian leg of Rock on the Range on August 7.
1. Shinedown - "The Crow & the Butterfly"
Shinedown's The Sound of Madness may have come out more than two years ago, but the album keeps generating big hits for the band. "The Crow & the Butterfly" takes over the No. 1 spot, with its main competition in future weeks seeming to be Disturbed and Ozzy.
