Top 10 Billboard Rock Songs - March 24, 2012

From , former About.com Guide

The Billboard Rock Songs chart no longer contains the sound of Bush in the Top 10. Their comeback hit, "The Sound of Winter," drops out of the countdown, which gives us room for a Los Angeles metal band to make their presence felt...

10. Five Finger Death Punch - "Remember Everything"

The latest single from Five Finger Death Punch's American Capitalist is the moody "Remember Everything," and this week it's our sole new entry, landing at No. 10. The last time this metal quintet were on the Rock Songs chart, it was in 2010 for their cover of "Bad Company," which got as high as No. 7.

9. Foo Fighters - "Walk"

"Walk" is hanging on by a thread. The Foo Fighters single, which was No. 1 for eight nonconsecutive weeks, drops two spots this week to No. 9. It was announced this week that the band will headline the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

8. Foster the People - "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)"

Foster the People move up a notch to No. 8 this week with "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)." The indie-pop trio are so big right now that they were asked to perform at Elton John's post-Oscar party this year, where they had a chance to hang out with Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.

7. Rise Against - "Satellite"

This "Satellite" continues to rise. The Rise Against single moves up one place to No. 7. The band will soon be on tour with A Day to Remember and Title Fight.

6. Chevelle - "Face to the Floor"

"Face to the Floor" sits at No. 6 for a second straight week. Chevelle are hoping to land a second single from Hats Off to the Bull in the Top 10 soon with the release of the title track to radio.

fun. had been zooming up the Rock Songs chart, but now they've hit a traffic jam. For the second straight week, "We Are Young" (which features vocals from the great Janelle Monae) hangs out at No. 5. Meanwhile, "We Are Young" remains the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

4. Shinedown - "Bully"

Amaryllis is just about ready to drop, and on our chart its first single, "Bully," is a bit stalled. Shinedown sit at No. 4 for a third week in a row. The Florida rockers have had one No. 1 hit, the ballad "The Crow & the Butterfly."

3. Foo Fighters - "These Days"

For three weeks now, "These Days" has been at No. 3, previously peaking at No. 2. Are Foo Fighters going to release another single from Wasting Light considering how successful the first three were? So far, there hasn't been any indication that they will.

2. Gotye (Featuring Kimbra) - "Somebody That I Used to Know"

Can "Somebody That I Used to Know" hit No. 1? If so, it would arguably be the most pop-leaning track to do so in the Rock Songs chart's less-than-three-year history. In the meantime, Gotye will have to settle for No. 2 for a third week in a row.

1. The Black Keys - "Lonely Boy"

OK, this is starting to get historic for the Black Keys. Their single "Lonely Boy" has now been at No. 1 for 14 weeks, which is the second-longest run at the top ever on the Rock Songs chart. The longest was last year when Foo Fighters' "Rope" claimed the crown for 20 straight weeks. That seemed like an extraordinary feat, but maybe the blues-rock duo from Ohio can surpass it?
