If you're looking for Shinedown on this week's Billboard Rock Songs chart, you're going to be sorely disappointed: Their song "Bully" falls out of the Top 10 after getting as high as No. 3. But do we have a new No. 1? You'll have to scroll down to find out...
10. Chevelle - "Hats Off to the Bull"
The second single from Chevelle's Hats Off to the Bull, the title track, is our sole new entry, making its debut at No. 10. (The band's previous single, "Face to the Floor," peaked at No. 3.) Chevelle recently announced that they're going to be playing this summer's Carnival of Madness alongside Halestorm and Evanescence.
9. M83 - "Midnight City"
The euphoric dance track "Midnight City" has had a nice little run on our countdown ... until now. First landing in the Top 10 back in April, the M83 hit is suddenly starting to lose some momentum, dropping two spots to No. 9.
8. The Offspring - "Days Go By"
The Offspring have been cranking out alt-rock hits since 1994's "Come Out and Play." The SoCal punk-rockers still are: Their latest, "Days Go By," jumps up a spot to No. 8.
7. Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks"
Of Monsters and Men's full-length debut, My Head Is a Monster, dropped in April of this year. Its breakthrough single, "Little Talks," is steadily climbing up our chart. This week, it bounces up another spot to No. 7.
6. Grouplove - "Tongue Tied"
And now we've reached the upper echelon of the countdown, where there's precious little movement. Grouplove sit at No. 6 for a fifth consecutive week with "Tongue Tied." The track comes from the quintet's first album, Never Trust a Happy Song, which produced one other single, "Colours," that never made its way into the Rock Songs Top 10.
5. fun. (Featuring Janelle Monae) - "We Are Young"
"We Are Young" has been certified triple-platinum, and the smash single from fun. hit No. 1 on our chart for one week. Now, though, the Some Nights track sits at No. 5 for a second straight week. We may be getting more fun. soon: The title track is currently at No. 23 and rising.
4. Soundgarden - "Live to Rise"
It's two weeks in a row at No. 4 for Soundgarden and their song "Live to Rise." The band won't be playing any U.S. dates this summer, but they'll be stopping off at some European festivals in June and July.
3. Gotye (Featuring Kimbra) - "Somebody That I Used to Know"
On the strength of "Somebody That I Used to Know," Gotye's most recent album, Making Mirrors, has gone gold in the States. Meanwhile, "Somebody" stays at No. 3 for a second week.
2. The Black Keys - "Gold on the Ceiling"
"Gold on the Ceiling" is one of three songs in our Top 10 that made my list of 2012's best rock songs. That doesn't help it much on the countdown, though: For a second straight week, the El Camino tune is parked at No. 2.
1. Linkin Park - "Burn It Down"
If you've been watching the NBA playoffs at all on TNT, you've probably heard Linkin Park's "Burn It Down," which the network plays a ton during their broadcasts. But even if you're not a hoops fan, you probably have a tough time avoiding the latest smash from the rap-rock sextet: For a third week in a row, "Burn It Down" is the most popular rock song in the land.
