There's a bit of a logjam at the top of this week's Billboard Rock Songs chart, but that's not keeping several high-risers from making a bid for No. 1.
10. Rise Against - "Savior"
Rise Against remain firmly entrenched at No. 10 with "Savior." The Appeal to Reason track has been on the chart for an impressive 58 weeks.
9. Muse - "Uprising"
Alt-rock trio Muse have shown chart longevity with their single "Uprising." After 51 weeks, the track holds steady at No. 9 for a second straight week, remaining more popular than a newer song of theirs, "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" from the Eclipse soundtrack.
8. 30 Seconds to Mars - "This Is War"
After several weeks at No. 4, 30 Seconds to Mars drop to No. 8 with the title track from This Is War. They'll start up a U.S. tour at the end of August.
7. Phoenix - "Lisztomania"
One Phoenix song leaves the Top 10, another takes it place. We say goodbye to "1901" at the same time we say hello to "Lisztomania," which leaps four spots to No. 7.
6. Avenged Sevenfold - "Nightmare"
The title track from Avenged Sevenfold's new album moves up another notch this week. It's expected that Nightmare will top the Billboard album chart next week, which would be the first time the metal band has ever hit No. 1 with one of their records.
5. Three Days Grace - "The Good Life"
Three Days Grace continue their slow slide down the Top 10. They'll be one of the bands playing the Rock 'n Rev festival in August in South Dakota.
4. Disturbed - "Another Way to Die"
3. Cage the Elephant - "In One Ear"
Cage the Elephant continues their furious climp up the chart, jumping from No. 6 to No. 3. You can catch the "In One Ear" indie-rock band on tour with Stone Temple Pilots.
2. The Dirty Heads Featuring Rome - "Lay Me Down"
The Dirty Heads failed to reclaim the top spot, but they're holding firm at No. 2 for a second straight week. Nevertheless, the band did become the first group from an independent label to hit No. 1 on the Rock Songs chart.
1. Shinedown - "The Crow & the Butterfly"
For the third time in four weeks, Shinedown are kings of the mountain with "The Crow & the Butterfly." Perhaps just as exciting for their fans, their songs are now featured on Guitar Hero.
