This week's Billboard Rock Charts are disappointingly stagnant. There's simply not a lot of movement, especially when it comes to Rock Songs and Alternative Songs. But some new albums are at least making things a little exciting, with Stone Sour's latest disc particularly strong in its first week.

Rock Songs Chart

1. fun. - "Some Nights" (Purchase/Download)
2. Alex Clare - "Too Close" (Purchase/Download)
3. Phillip Phillips - "Home" (Purchase/Download)
4. The Lumineers - "Ho Hey" (Purchase/Download)
5. Imagine Dragons - "It's Time" (Purchase/Download)

Ever since Billboard radically reconfigured how it tracks its Rock Songs chart a few week ago, fun. have topped the countdown with "Some Nights." They're still No. 1 on this week's chart, and most of the rest of the Top Five remains unchanged. The only new entry is Imagine Dragons and their breakout hit "It's Time," which places at No. 5, knocking "I Will Wait" from Mumford & Sons out of that spot. But Mumford & Sons are well-represented on other charts down below.

Rock Albums Chart

1. Mumford & Sons - Babel (Purchase/Download)
2. Gary Clark, Jr. - Blak and Blu (Purchase/Download)
3. Stone Sour - House of Gold & Bones - Part 1 (Purchase/Download)
4. The Sword - Apocryphon (Purchase/Download)
5. The Lumineers - The Lumineers (Purchase/Download)

For a fifth straight week, Babel is No. 1 on the Rock Albums chart. Right behind them is Gary Clark, Jr., a much-heralded young blues artist whose Blak and Blu is his major-label debut. House of Gold & Bones - Part 1, the ambitious concept album from Stone Sour, checks in at No. 3, while metal band the Sword's Apocryphon debuts at No. 4. Fun tidbit: Both the Sword and Clark, Jr. hail from Austin, Texas.

Alternative Songs Chart

1. Muse - "Madness" (Purchase/Download)
2. Mumford & Sons - "I Will Wait" (Purchase/Download)
3. The Lumineers - "Ho Hey" (Purchase/Download)
4. The Black Keys - "Little Black Submarines" (Purchase/Download)
5. Passion Pit - "Take a Walk" (Purchase/Download)

Muse's The 2nd Law has long since slipped out of the Top Five on our different album charts, but the single "Madness" tops the Alternative Songs chart for a third week in a row. "I Will Wait" continues its stay at No. 2, but the Lumineers and The Black Keys keep battling over the third spot: This week, "Ho Hey" is the victor.

Alternative Albums Chart

1. Mumford & Sons - Babel (Purchase/Download)
2. Stone Sour - House of Gold & Bones - Part 1 (Purchase/Download)
3. The Lumineers - The Lumineers (Purchase/Download)
4. fun. - Some Nights (Purchase/Download)
5. Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More (Purchase/Download)

House of Gold & Bones - Part 1 scores the highest debut on the Alternative Albums chart, placing at No. 2, but Babel keeps on keeping on at No. 1. A former No. 1, Some Nights, reenters the Top Five, landing at No. 4. By the way, fun. are scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on November 3.

Hard Rock Albums Chart

1. Stone Sour - House of Gold & Bones - Part 1 (Purchase/Download)
2. The Sword - Apocryphon (Purchase/Download)
3. Kiss - Monster (Purchase/Download)
4. Dethklok - Dethalbum III (Purchase/Download)
5. Three Days Grace - Transit of Venus (Purchase/Download)

Last week, Dethklok were at No. 1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, but Stone Sour have now shoved them aside. (Dethalbum III now resides at No. 4.) Kiss and Three Days Grace hang tough in the Top Five for another week, making room for the Sword at No. 2. Next week, though, we might hear some noise from Flyleaf and Neil Young & Crazy Horse, who are both putting out new records.
