What Do You Think of Queens of the Stone Age's New Song?

By April 9, 2013

Follow me on:

"My God Is the Sun" is the first new Queens of the Stone Age song in six years. It's off ...Like Clockwork, which hits stores on June 4, and the three-and-a-half-minute track is very much in keeping with the band's previous work. I think fans will be pleased.

The song features the freeway-shredding guitars and slightly trippy melody that were staples of Songs for the Deaf and R. "My God Is the Sun" isn't quite as fiery as some of Queens' most combustive uptempo rock songs, but it's got a real nice engine to it -- provided, presumably, by Dave Grohl, who's just one of several guest stars on ...Like Clockwork. If you weren't sufficiently excited for the new album already, "My God Is the Sun" will help get you there.

But that's just my take: I'm curious what you think. Check out "My God Is the Sun" and then vote in my poll.
