Strokes Announce New Album, 'Comedown Machine'

By January 30, 2013

Five years went by between First Impressions of Earth and 2011's Angles, but the reunited Strokes aren't waiting that long for the follow-up. Today, the New York quintet revealed that their new disc, Comeback Machine, will hit stores March 26.

Thus far, the Strokes have unveiled one song from the collection, the dance-rock "One Way Trigger," but the first "official" single will be "All the Time," which is due to arrive on February 19. One wonders if "All the Time" will sound more like the Strokes that their fans recognize. (The stylistic curve ball of "One Way Trigger" seems to have thrown many of the faithful.) Regardless, the fact that there's a new album further demonstrates that the band members were serious about making this reunion a permanent thing. They may not be able to recreate the hype of the early 2000s surrounding their group, but that doesn't mean they can't keep going out there and making record.
