About 10 years ago, the Strokes were one of the hot up-and-coming rock bands. Looked at as saviors of authentic New York rock -- think Velvet Underground or Television -- the quintet splashed onto the scene with 2001's Is This It, an album title that seemingly mocked all the hype surrounding the band. But what happened after that? With a new album on the way from the Strokes, I decided to look back at the group's history.
