The three-day event, which will take place from May 17 to May 19, will be headlined by Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Smashing Pumpkins. It's funny to think that, 20 years ago, these three bands would have been major draws at the burgeoning Lollapalooza. (And, in fact, these groups took turns being part of that summer festival in the early '90s.) At Rock on the Range, they'll be joined by everybody from Stone Sour to Korn. All in all, more than 45 bands will be taking part.
The organizers mentioned that they're also going to be including performances from standup comics for the first time, although no names have been announced yet. Maybe Billy Corgan will tell some jokes?
