Red Hot Chili Peppers to Headline Coachella

Last year, Coachella mixed things up by expanding their festival to two weekends. They'll be doing the same thing for this year's edition, and Red Hot Chili Peppers will be the headliners on the Sunday shows.

The festival revealed its lineup last night. The shows will take place April 12-14 and then April 19-21. As with last year, the bands will play the same day on both weekends. It's no surprise that the Coachella bill skews toward indie acts, but rock groups like the Gaslight Anthem and Band of Horses will also be part of the lineup.

For Red Hot Chili Peppers, this will be the third time they've been part of Coachella. Their last appearance was in 2007, but bassist Flea has performed more recently: You may remember that he played with Atoms for Peace back in 2010. The Peppers' most recent album, I'm With You, has gone gold, but I imagine these Coachella shows will span their many years of hits.
