Diamond Eyes, the previous record from Deftones, was the best rock album of 2010. The band's follow-up, Koi No Yokan, is definitely one of this year's strongest. It's a dazzling, layered collection of songs that twists alt-metal into all kinds of crazy new shapes, achieving that rare feat of being both beautiful and aggressive. While other bands that started out in the mid-'90s are running out of gas -- or getting back together in the hopes of launching a comeback -- these guys are only growing stronger.
