There were reports over the weekend that Atoms for Peace, the side project from Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, would be releasing their debut, AMOK, at the end of January. Today, Rolling Stone confirmed that the album will be arriving January 28.
The nine-song collection includes "Default," which the band dropped in the fall. The band consists of Yorke, Nigel Godrich (Radiohead's longtime producer who is credited with "production & programming"), drummer Joey Waronker, percussionist Mauro Refosco, and bassist Flea (better known for his day job with Red Hot Chili Peppers).
By the way, there's no word yet about whether or not the group will be touring -- they did some shows in 2010 -- but it's worth noting that Red Hot Chili Peppers will be in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa in January and early February of next year. Perhaps Atoms for Peace will be heading out afterward?
UPDATE: The album is now coming February 26.
