The Sheepdogs are a quartet out of Canada who have been putting out albums for about five years. Their newest, simply called The Sheepdogs, is their major-label debut and serves as their introduction to most of the rest of the world. The Sheepdogs recalls classic-rock sounds, and it's no surprise that Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney served as a producer: These two bands share an affinity for no-fuss rock 'n' roll. The record is highly recommended for those who love the retro-rock sounds of new groups like Alabama Shakes.
The band's new album dropped earlier this month, and now they're preparing for a U.S. tour that will see them cover most of the country, hitting clubs from Seattle to Los Angeles to Austin to South Burlington. The tour runs until October 24, and depending on the date they'll be backed by either Black Box Revelation or Buffalo Killers.
