The Whigs are an under-the-radar band recommended to fans of pure garage rock. They've put out four albums, including the forthcoming Enjoy the Company (out September 18), which exult in the joy of pounding drums and amped-up guitars. The trio don't care too much about studio sophistication or complicated songwriting; their songs tend to be three-minute rockers that are instantly engaging.
Before the Whigs release Enjoy the Company, they'll be heading out on tour, starting off in Montana on September 1 and ending up November 23 in Atlanta. I've never seen them live, but I'd have to assume they put on a propulsive, sweaty show.
