A decade ago, Papa Roach were part of the rap-rock movement, but in recent years they've switched up their sound to embrace a more rock-centric approach. That proved unsuccessful on their last studio album, 2009's Metamorphosis, but perhaps they'll have more luck with their latest disc, The Connection.
The album, which will be arriving October 2, is reportedly inspired in part by frontman Jacoby Shaddix's separation from his wife. This will be the first studio record for the band on Eleven Seven since ending their deal with Interscope. (They put out a best-of through that label in 2010 as a going-away present.) With all that in mind, it's very possible that The Connection will represent a fresh start for the band in general and their singer in particular.
While we await more info on The Connection, you can check out Papa Roach when they perform as part of the Rockstar Uproar Festival starting in August.
