Billboard is reporting that a documentary about the making of Uno!, Dos! and Tre! is in the works. There's also an additional documentary being worked on that traces the band's early days in the 1990s. "It's not going to be the sitting down, head shot of me going, 'We started out blah blah blah,'" Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained. "We wanted to get into lifestyles of rock 'n' roll and playing rock 'n' roll and letting the story kind of tell itself rather than create revisionist [history]."
These won't be Green Day's first documentaries, of course. They've released two live CD/DVDs: 2005's Bullet in a Bible and last year's Awesome as F***. But while there aren't any concrete release dates announced for these two new documentaries, the hope is that the film about the making of Uno!, Dos! and Tre! will be unveiled at Sundance in January. If that's the case, Green Day wouldn't be the only band with a film at the Park City film festival: The Black Keys may be there as well.
