Foo Fighters Unveil 'Garage Tour' Documentary

By August 3, 2011

When Foo Fighters were starting to spread the word about April's Wasting Light, their first album in four years, one of the things they did was hold a contest where the winners would be treated to a free performance by the band in their garage. It was a smart way to advertise the back-to-basics rock of Wasting Light, not to mention the fact that the disc had been recorded in frontman Dave Grohl's garage. Plus, because Grohl is so beloved for being such a down-to-earth guy, the contests allowed him to interact with fans in a real, up-close-and-personal way.

Well, if you didn't win, fear not: Foo Fighters have now released Foo Fighters Garage Tour, a 40-minute film that documents all the places the band went during the contest, including Washington D.C., Toronto and New York. Disappointingly, you don't get to see a lot of any one song performed during these garage shows, but you do meet the excited Foo fans who got to play host to their favorite band.

You can watch Garage Tour here, although if you're at work watch out: There is some swearing. And if even if you didn't get to have the Foo Fighters play your garage, you can still see them on tour this fall.
