Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross -- musical collaborators who have worked together in Nine Inch Nails and How to Destroy Angels -- won the Oscar for Best Original Score at Sunday's Academy Awards for their work in The Social Network.
This was the first nomination for both men, who contributed an electronic-heavy score to director David Fincher's film about the creation of Facebook. Reznor and Ross will team up again on Fincher's next film, the American remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
For Reznor, this Oscar win puts him halfway toward earning his EGOT, a special designation for a rare group of artists who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony. Reznor just needs an Emmy and a Tony now.
