Ever since Noel Gallagher announced in August that he was leaving Oasis, the band's fans -- not to mention the British press -- have been anxiously following the unfolding saga. First Jay-Z said that he'd be interested in collaborating with Liam on a project. Then, Liam confirmed that the band had indeed folded and that he would focus on his budding clothing line. Well, today's installment stars Noel, who seems pretty excited about leaving Oasis behind and working on solo material.

The Daily Mirror caught up with the guitarist and songwriter at a London nightclub, and he discussed his post-Oasis plans. "I'm looking forward to doing my own thing, bringing out my own music," he said. "I'm glad that's what people want to hear. I am not thinking about much else, Oasis or Liam, I'm just having a good time."

Ironically, long before Oasis broke up, Liam had been speculating about doing a solo record. Back in April, he said, "I've got a lot of songs lying around and some of them are really great. But they're not Oasis songs." And of course there's also the question of what's to become of the songs that were written for the band's follow-up to last year's Dig Out Your Soul. Will they ever see the light of day? Will they go on a Noel Gallagher solo record? We don't know yet, but it's a sure bet that when something happens, the British media will let us know.

I’m hoping he gets a bit experimental with it… He does have that streak in him. If it’s all acoustic “talk tonight” type stuff… I don’t know how that would wear over the course of a full album.
