Creed reunion rumors began circulating heavily at the end of last year, and now the band members have made it official – they’re working on a new record and will start a tour in August.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Creed frontman Scott Stapp said, “I wouldn’t call it a reunion. It’s a renewing and a rebirth. I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again. We’re all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression.” The band will be convening in Nashville shortly to work on the new album, their first studio record since 2001’s Weathered, and Stapp says that industry heavyweights like Brendan O’Brien have been approached to produce it.
In addition, Creed will being a U.S. tour on August 6 that will run through mid-October. They haven’t been on the cultural radar for quite a while, but they still clearly have a following judging by the size of the venues they’ve booked for these reunion shows.
