Alice in Chains Prepare September Release for New Album

Tuesday April 14, 2009
Alice in Chains’ first album since 1995, and their first with new frontman William DuVall, is finished. According to a post on the band’s blog by Alice associate Baldy, album artwork still needs to be completed, but the album itself is recorded and done, and the band will be releasing the record, one of the year’s most-anticipated, some time in September.

Baldy reveals little about the as-yet-untitled album except to say, “I can tell you that some amazing songs were written and recorded. From the heaviest riff-dripping gut puncher to the most sadly beautiful song I think this band has ever recorded, I honestly believe that this album will return Alice in Chains to the top of the hard rock heap.”

Alice in Chains will be appearing at Rock on the Range in May, so hopefully fans will get to experience some of this new material at the Ohio music festival.
