Staind are still busy on the road promoting August’s The Illusion of Progress, but frontman Aaron Lewis is already thinking about his next record – his first solo album.
In an interview with Billboard, Lewis said, “I can write songs on the acoustic guitar, in an acoustic-type manner, extremely easily … There’s a handful of songs that are already there that just have to get revisited, and I don’t think I’ll have any trouble coming up with more.”
The album will be his focus in April and May of next year, but Lewis will do some preliminary solo dates before Staind hit Europe in January. From the sounds of things, this is definitely not one of those “Is the band gonna break up?” situations – Lewis has already confirmed that Staind will almost certainly be touring the U.S. again next summer.
